Troubleshooting: Commission Not Showing Up
Problem
You closed a deal (or an order was created, or an invoice was paid) but no commission record appeared.
Troubleshooting Checklist
1. Is there an active commission rule?
Go to Commissions → Rules tab. Check:
- ✅ Is there a rule for the right entity type (Deal, Order, Invoice)?
- ✅ Is the trigger type correct (Deal Won, Invoice Paid, etc.)?
- ✅ Is the rule set to Active?
2. Did the trigger actually fire?
Commissions are created when specific events occur:
- Deal Won: The deal must be moved to a "Won" stage
- Stage Reached: The deal must reach the specific stage configured in the rule
- Order Created: An order must be created
- Invoice Paid: The invoice status must change to "Paid"
3. Does the rule's role filter match your role?
If the rule has a role filter, it only applies to users with that specific role. Check if your role matches.
4. Does the rule's pipeline filter match?
If the rule has a pipeline filter, it only applies to deals in that specific pipeline.
5. Is the rule "one-time" and already used?
One-time rules only fire once per entity. If a commission was already created for this entity under the same rule, it won't create another.
6. Check the time filter
On the Commissions page, make sure you're viewing the right time period. If your commission was earned in February but you're viewing "This Month" (March), it won't show. Try "Year" to see all records.
7. Check splits
If you were added to a deal split AFTER the commission was already created, the commission might not have been generated for you. Re-save the split (open the split modal and click Save) to trigger commission record creation.

Create a support ticket with:
- The deal/entity name and value
- Your username and role
- The commission rule you expect to trigger
- Screenshots showing the deal status
